Question

When trying to open the Event Planner, I get either “error in Planner.exe” or “GPF/IPF in module Planner.exe”. How do I correct this issue?

Answer

This often indicates a corruption in the files that save your Address Book and Calendar Event & Reminders. The only way to correct this issue is to delete those files. This will delete all the saved information in the Event Planner.

Note: We recommend that you back up your Address Book information. Please see this (Link to “How do I backup my Event Planner information?” FAQ) article for directions on backing it up.

To delete the files that store the Event Planner information, please perform the following steps:

    • Close the Hallmark Card Studio 2006 program, if it is open.
    • Double-click your My Computer on either your Desktop or Start menu.
    • On the My Computer window, double-click your C: drive.
    • If the information is hidden, select the option to show the hidden files/folders.
    • Double-click the folder labeled Document and Settings.
    • Double-click the folder labeled All Users.
    • Double-click the Application Data folder. If you do not see the Application Data folder, it may be hidden. Please read this (Link to "How do I display the Hidden Files and Folders?” FAQ in Product Independent) article.
    • Double-click the Creative Home folder.
    • Double-click the Hallmark Card Studio 2006 folder.
    • Double-click the Planner folder. You will now see 2 files that start with PLANR32.
    • While holding your shift key, right-click the first PLANR32 file and select the Delete option from the pop-up menu.
    • On the warning box that confirms the delete, select the Yes button.
    • Repeat steps 16 & 17 for the second PLANR32 file.
    • Open the Hallmark Card Studio 2006 program.
