Two Tips: Minimizing Margins and Recreating Favorites
By Pam Erickson

As a Hallmark User Forum Moderator, I often run across tips and tricks that help me to use my Hallmark Card Studio software to its fullest potential. In each issue of Hallmark Software Happenings, I’ll share some of these tips with you.

Minimizing White Margins on Your Printed Cards
Are you looking for a way to print your Hallmark Card Studio project with the least amount of white margin?

Hallmark Card Studio sets your margins based on the project size you initially specify. You can change the size of paper you intend to print by choosing from within the Print dialog box once you’ve completed your project—but, you will get even better results if you start out with the intended size in the beginning.

Example:
Let’s say you want to create a card based on the Hallmark Traditional paper size. If you wait until you get to the Print dialog box to select that option, your card will have larger white margins than you might prefer.

Instead, start out in the Art Studio screen using the card size on which you prefer to print.

Recreating New Versions of Your Favorite Projects
Have you ever wanted to be able to copy and paste objects from one card to another to recreate your projects in a new format?

To copy all objects that appear on the face of a card, you will need to be in the Art Studio screen of the opened project. Use the Edit menu at the top of the screen to access the Select All and Copy commands.

Select New from the File menu. Open your desired project type.

When the new project opens in the Art Studio screen, select the Paste command from the Edit menu. At this point, you may want to stretch and re-size the objects to best fit this new project size. When you get to the Print dialog box, you will find your project looks better when printing on the same paper size you created the project with.

If you have a project that doesn't seem to look as expected in the Print dialog box, try re-creating the project by starting out in the Art Studio screen using the project size you intend to print on.

I’m sure you will be pleased with the results!
